Highbrook Car Park

Project data

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

This three-storey car park completes the "Crossing" which is the town centre of the Highbrook Business Park in East Tamaki. Specific construction challenges were the slope of the suspended slabs, the high finish concrete requirements and the asphalted ground.

Requirements

This building was specified as fully in-situ concrete. Therefore everything had to be cast on site not utilizing any pre-cast technology. Much of the concrete is exposed finish, therefore a high quality concrete finish was specified. Only one crane was available therefore a light-weight suspended slab panel system was required.

Benefit to customer

Casting the suspended slabs in-situ put the contractor in full control

No waiting for pre-cast panels and related issues such as traffic management and lack of crane capacity

SKYDECK panels are light-weight and therefore they were man-handled saving valuable crane time

PERI solution

PERI proposed SKYDECK for the flat slabs and for the drop beams. Utilizing TRIO TRS columns allowed the contractor to cycle the columns quickly. The walls were formed to a high-finish requirement thanks to PERI TRIO. PERI UP was the system of choice for certain in-fill areas in the slab.
